In a statement released on Monday, September 6, Jubilee Party’s Secretary General Raphael Tuju asked Deputy President William Ruto to tame his allies, who have no respect for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s father Jomo Kenyatta and his father.
The party stated that William Ruto’s allies have been attacking President Uhuru’s family through social media platforms, but they will not engage them.
“It was an admirable display of optics and demeanour of humility before his real self and ego came back as he launched a scathing social media attack… directed at the person and family of the founding father of our nation Mzee Jomo Kenyatta who is not here to defend himself,” Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju said in the statement.
He urged William Ruto to call his allies in order, saying they will not engage in the talks about President Uhuru’s family.
In the press statement, SG Tuju told the Deputy President that the Head of State has been very patient with his allies’ social media attacks and continues to focus on his development agenda.
“They are luring us to get into the slimy and smelly social media pigsty that some of these people occupy. But we have the truth on our side and Kenyans will be made to know the truth,” he said.
The statement by Tuju comes after Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua accused the Kenyatta family of illegally acquiring parcels of land in Kenya.
This was after Interior CS Fred Matiang’i listed the land and properties owned by DP William Ruto.
“He (Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i) has opened the chapter. We will start talking about land issues in this country. Where did Mau Mau land go to? The Mau Mau land in Nakuru, who is the owner, and how many GSU officers are there?” MP Rigathi Gachagua posed.
