COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has announced he will host a second Bukhungu stadium rally to declare the Luhya political spokesperson ahead of the 2022 elections.
Atwoli who was speaking to journalists on Thursday, December 2, in his Nairobi office said the Bukhungu meeting shall be held on December 31 where all political leaders from the Western region are expected to attend.
“I have already said that on 31 December 2021 the Luhya community will converge at Bukhungu stadium; that is Bukhungu to determine and to listen to Luhya leaders and plan a sense of direction as to who -among the leaders who have declared their presidential candidature- people should listen to,” Atwoli said.
Atwoli asked Ford Kenya party leader and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula to also attend and convince the region that he is best placed to be the Luyha spokesperson.
He challenged the One Kenya Alliance principal to publicly announce who he shall for the much-awaited 2022 presidential elections.
“And if Moses Masika Wetang’ula is also a presidential candidate, let him come to Bukhungu and tell the people who are he collaborating with and how strong and effective he is,” said Francis Atwoli.
In June 2017, Atwoli installed ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi as the Luhya spokesperson ahead of the general polls that year.
