DP Ruto Forced to Intervene as Politician Lectures Rigathi Gachagua in Public

Deputy President William Ruto was forced to swing into action on Thursday, May 19, after a Nyandarua gubernatorial aspirant Waithaka Kirika Mwangi lectured his deputy and Mathira MP Righathi Gachagua.

Speaking at a Kenya Kwanza Alliance rally in Nyandarua County, The Service Party (TSP) gubernatorial aspirant asked the Kenya Kwanza running mate not to campaign for specific people in the coalition.

The seemingly agitated Waithaka, who was delivering his speech next to Ruto, asked the Mathira MP to desist from campaigning for individuals.

“Don’t come and campaign for one member of the Kenya Kwanza coalition. Leave that one to the electorate. I’m beseeching you, especially my friend Gachagua, don’t come and campaign for individuals in Kenya Kwanza,” the seemingly furious politician stated.

As he made his remarks, the DP tried to intervene to calm him down.

“Haya sawa, tuko pamoja,” Ruto said as the politician was winding up his speech.

The DP pitched a tent in Nyandarua on Thursday where he continued to sell his bottom-up economic model, wooing voters to vote in Kenya Kwanza in the upcoming August polls.

TSP is headed by former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri and is part of the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

On Friday, the DP took his campaigns to Embu County where he said the Raila Odinga-led coalition had betrayed Kenyans.
