
President William Ruto has today begun his four day tour of The Nyanza region with a visit to Kisumu. Speaking in Kisumu, Nyando where he launched the Kabonyo Kanyagwal fisheries plant the president promised the people that the region would not be left behind or discriminated when it comes to development projects. The Kabonyo fisheries plant is expected to generate up to seven million fingerlings every year and to restore some fish species into Lake Victoria.
The Ruto led government is expected to inject 2.5 billion into the project with an expected 9 million in the first year. The president is also expected to revive several irrigation schemes in the region.
The president is set to visit Kisumu, Homabay,Siaya and Migori counties meeting and engaging with residents. The hallmark of the four day tour is expected to be a meeting that will be chaired by the president at the Kakamega state Lodge away from Nairobi.
