Religious denominations are a creation of men; and not God’s. This is why each domination has its own doctrines, rules, and regulations.
Oftentimes, the majority of these dominations don’t see eye to eye. Each of them claims to be the one teaching sound doctrines despite claiming to be serving the same God.
The traditions, doctrines, rules, and regulations are set by the founders and trickled down. They must be observed and practiced by all ministers who have subscribed to that denomination. They have no problem twisting and mutilating scriptures and sound doctrine, as long as that will help them advance THEIR OWN doctrines, traditions, rules, and regulations. God is no author of confusion.
They obviously have other foundations (false foundations). They are NOT built on the only sure, eternal foundation that is already laid – Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11)
The church of Christ, however, is built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, with Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). The foundation of the church of Christ is Christ Himself. The church of Christ functions in this ONENESS (UNITY)

Even though we read about various churches (assemblies of believers) in various locations in the Bible, they were all taught the same Doctrine by the Apostles and they had the same foundation – Jesus Christ.
