Kuppet Homa Bay Asks TSC To Stop Show Cause Letters To Teachers

Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Homa Bay brach has called on Teachers Service Commision (TSC) to reduce show cause letters to teachers.

Speaking at the union’s branch Annuel General Meeting, held at Jabali County Lodge in Oyugis Town today, KUPPET Homa Bay Executive Secretary Mr Stephen Yogo urged TSC to engage in other conflict resolution methods when dealing with teachers.

“We have urged that other conflict resolution mesures be employed to avoid letters that may hamper career growths of teachers,” Mr Yogo said.

Mr Yogo also revealed KUPPET had petitioned TSC to factor municipality allowance for schools in Homa Bay.

“15 schools within the municipality have been missing out on the municipality allowance. We hope TSC will act accordingly so that all affected teachers benefit,” he said.

Around one thousand teachers attended the meeting.  The assembly was graced by, among others, Zablon Awange (Kisumu) and Orwa Jasolo (Migori) Mary Rotich (Kericho).
