Valary Owiyo was expectant with her first baby and together with her hubby Fredrick Ogutu (commonly known as Fred), was happy, enthusiastically waiting to welcome a new member into the family.
However, Fred’s happiness as a father-to-be was short-lived. All his plans for his wife and baby were shattered. What Fred did not know was that his wife would die in a place he thought was safe for her to deliver their baby.
The family says their daughter and her baby died due to negligence by the medics at the hospital.
He was later called by the hospital and told that both the wife and the child had died.
“They told me my wife and child were dead,” said Fred in tears.
Dr Daniel Osiri of Nightingale Hospital declined to give details leading to the incident only stating that he had discussed the issue with the family.
It is our hope that the matter shall be fully dispensed. May the family, and the husband find comfort.
May her soul, together with her baby, rest in peace.
