
President William Ruto has today warned Homabay residents against demonstrations saying they are keeping investors away. Speaking in Homabay on the second day of his Nyanza tour, the President reiterated that he faced a difficult time wooing investors during his foreign trips stating that the demonstrations and destruction of property were keeping investors away from the region.
Ruto who visited Mfangano, Suba and Homabay town was on a charm offensive asking the people to unite and support the national government while desisting from the violent demonstrations.
The president also announced the creation of a Suba-central sub-county whose headquarters will be located in Sindo.
Homabay governor Gladys Wanga who was in attendance pointed out the frustrations of the fishermen in the hands of the Ugandan authorities. UDA offices in the region were also unveiled.
