Can Christians Be Possessed by Demons?

Many of today’s spiritual warfare leaders are far too ready to proclaim every declaration of faith in Christ as proof of salvation. This is indicative of the generation’s easy-believism. Question: Can Christians Be Possessed by Demons?

What does God’s Word – the ultimate authority on the subject – say about it? Is it possible for demons to possess or occupy a sincere believer? Is it possible for them to enter via an open door? “Yes,” say supporters of today’s spiritual warfare movement. But, their answer is based on personal experience rather than God’s Word. Such a claim is not supported by the Bible.

“God liberated us from the dominion of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,” Paul writes in Colossians 1:13. True rescue and protection from Satan come with salvation. We abundantly conquer through Christ, Paul states in Romans 8:37.

God grants us the victory, he declares in 1 Corinthians 15:57. God always leads us in triumph, he declares in 2 Corinthians 2:14. We have vanquished the wicked one, according to 1 John 2:13. He also claims that the indwelling Holy Spirit is bigger than Satan in 4:4. How could anyone believe in demons indwelling real Christians while affirming such magnificent truths?

Demons could never inhabit or possess a Christian, according to a comprehensive scriptural grasp of the theology of conversion.

Many people seem to be in control of their life. However, they have not placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. Their spirits are “unoccupied,” meaning they are not filled with the Holy Spirit. As a result, they’re vulnerable to demons. That can’t be said for people whose bodies serve as Holy Spirit houses.
