Police say Wangechi was in a relationship with the killer for some time before she discovered that he was a thug.
She confronted him about it leading to a misunderstanding between the two.
On Friday, Wangeci left college to meet Wanyoike in Kirigiti, to try and sort out their misunderstanding but walked into a death trap.
During the early morning raid, the officers recovered a vegetable knife that was carefully concealed in his waistband and which was used in stabbing the innocent teenage student.
The three suspects have been placed in custody for the offence of murder.
